Acting for Improvisors

Lauren Brickman is a NYC-based actor/comedian, director/coach, and educator. An alum of UCB’s Maude Night and current performer with UCB’s flagship sketch team, ASSSSKETCH, Lauren has spent well over a decade helping performers sharpen their craft both onstage and off. She holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Iowa and has appeared in tv shows like FBI: Most Wanted, Bull, and appeared off-broadway (and on tour!) with Lisa Lampanelli’s Losin’ It. Lauren’s acting credits include numerous stage productions (including Story Pirates!), commercials, and independent projects. In addition to her performance work, Lauren has taught acting, comedy, public speaking, and storytelling at the University of Iowa, Adelphi University, CUNY, the New York Film Academy, and more. She also worked briefly in talent management and currently supports community service initiatives through Broadway Serves (an affiliate of Broadway Cares!). Her teaching style combines professional actor training with a comedian’s sensibility, helping performers build stronger characters, make bolder choices, and discover why the funniest moments are often the most truthful ones.
