Designed for dedicated improvisers who have already completed a year-long course of study, the ColdTowne Advanced Studies program will equip you with the tools to take your improv to new heights.
Rigorous scenework exercises, individually tailored notes, and weekly homework assignments — along with working alongside equally motivated students under the direction of some of Austin’s best improv instructors — will open up new possibilities and depth in your performance.
The Advanced Studies program requires a long-term advance commitment to four sessions of work. Students who’ve completed their coursework at ColdTowne or other theaters are invited to apply to the program.
Qualified applicants will have graduated from an established improv program or have the equivalent experience as well as references from teachers.
Since the program is rigorous and includes weekly assignments, we’re looking for dedicated, passionate students who take their comedy seriously. We keep classes sizes small to ensure maximum stage time, meaning we’re asking participants to commit up front to all four levels.
Admission will be based on:
Additionally, when putting together the class, we strive to create a diverse class in terms of gender, background and improv training.
