MOTHUP! STORY TELLING: LOVE HURTS
The Moth, an open-mic story telling show hosted in cities around the country, has recently gotten its own radio program on NPR. ColdTowne Theater is bringing MothUp to Austin on Thursday, February 18 at 9:30pm! This is a free evening of story telling open to the public. Come listen to stories of love, loss, and beyond and share a story of your own if you're feeling inspired!
THE HEAT DEATH OF THE UNIVERSE
After three years, one of the longest running shows at ColdTowne Theater is coming to a close. Parallelogramophonograph is winding down their residency at ColdTowne Theater and moving it over to the HideOut. They'll be recapping some of their favorite formats they've developed over the years. STOOL PIGEON with Jenny Carlson!
This Saturday the cast of Stool Pigeon brings you an innovative cast of improvisers, sketch comedy writers, and visiting guest stars! Come be entertained as they twist the stories of local celebrity guest Jenny Carlson into completely improvised scenes! Sponsored by The Onion. Show starts at 8pm. EYE FOR AN iPHONE
Developed over three months through improv shows, writing sessions and rehearsals, Eye for an iPhone features a cast of writers/performers made up of some of Austin’s most talented young comedians. The revue is helmed by veteran performer and former Second City director Dave Buckman. The cast is working on all-new material, so every week you can see new sketches and improv games! Show starts at 8pm on Friday. Tickets are $10 and are available online here!
FREE INTRO TO IMPROV CLASS!
Come to Coldtowne Theater Monday, March 1st at 7pm for a FREE Intro to Improv class. You can see how fun it is, and test the waters before signing up for a full length session. Our instructors have taught, trained, directed and performed at the world's foremost comedy institutions (Second City, IO, UCB) and have been voted "Best Comedy Group" three years in a row! ColdTowne Theater is Austin's main stage for alternative comedy. We currently run shows Thursday through Saturday and feature the smartest, brightest, and hardest-working comedians in Central Texas. We also run a conservatory offering education in improv and sketch comedy.
