8:00PM: Parallelogramophonograph

(scroll below for tonight's opening acts)
"It's like ... like watching otters at play onstage, actually: hyperintelligent, human-shaped, joyously goofy otters."
-The Austin Chronicle
Parallelogramophonograph love to tell stories, and they've used their ongoing residency at ColdTowne Theater to create and experiment with new ways to do that. "After School Improv" parodied those cheesy after-school specials from the '70s and '80s; in "The 1930s," Pgraph used a combination of extensive research and innovative narrative techniques to bring out the comedy in the Great Depression; and "Family Portrait" put a magnifying glass on the inner lives and relationships of a different family each week. Parallelogramophonograph are always playful and funny, yet never afraid to let dramatic moments add the bitter to their sweet improvised stories.
Parallelogramophonograph is Kareem Badr, Kaci Beeler, Roy Janik, and Valerie Ward.
Tonight Pgraph is joined by narrative wunderkinden Skipfield and ColdTowne Conservatory's latest graduating class, Ladyforms. Come groove on the vibrations of the next generation of improv.
